Start with 4 things: whether your floors are mostly hard or carpeted, whether you have pets or long hair at home, how much upkeep you want to do yourself, and your budget. If you would rather not empty the bin or wash the mop yourself, choose a model that comes with the AutoWash™ dock, and measure the gap under your beds and sofas against the robot's height first. A regular vacuum cleaner needs someone to push or carry it from room to room. A robot vacuum cleans on its own at the times you set in the app and fits under low furniture, so it suits picking up floor dust every day, and every Roomba® robot sold in Thailand also mops in the same machine. The two work well together: the robot looks after the floors, while a regular vacuum cleaner handles mattresses, fabric sofas and curtains, which a robot cannot clean.

Empty the bin and clean the filter regularly: clean the filter once a week, or twice a week if you have pets. Never wash the filter with water, and some bins must not be washed either. Models that come with the AutoWash™ dock empty dust into a bag in the dock for you, so you empty the bin less often. Remove hair tangled in the brushes from time to time, and replace the mop pad and filter every 3 to 6 months as the guides suggest. The real interval depends on your model and how often you clean.
