How do I set up the robot?
Answer: Setup is simple. Unbox the robot, place the AutoWash™ dock on a hard-surface floor at a safe distance from stairs with room for the robot to dock and undock, download the Roomba® Home app and follow the prompts. In a few minutes your robot is ready to go.
How well does it mop?
Answer: The spinning DualClean™ mop pads scour tough messes with ease. Turn on SmartScrub™ to mop back and forth while pressing down on stubborn stains like coffee for 2x deeper scrubbing. The robot detects rugs and lifts its mop pads 10 mm to keep them dry while vacuuming.
How well does it vacuum?
Answer: A great vacuum is more than just power, though this one delivers 25,000 Pa of suction, 3.5x more powerful. A flexible rubber brush and edge-sweeping brush pick up pet hair and dirt along walls and in corners, and Carpet Boost lifts dirt from hard floors to fluffy carpets.
How does the AutoWash™ dock work?
Answer: When cleaning is complete, the robot returns to the dock to auto-empty debris, hot-wash the mop pads at 75°C and heat-dry them at 45°C. A self-cleaning cycle pumps water through the dock to wash away accumulated debris.
How does home mapping work?
Answer: ClearView™ Pro LiDAR scans your home to create up to 5 maps, even on different levels, that you can customise in the Roomba® Home app. Mapping takes only about 9 minutes (based on a 93 m² space), and then your robot is ready to navigate smoothly and avoid obstacles.
Does the robot vacuum and mop at the same time?
Answer: Yes, and the choice is yours. The robot has 4 cleaning modes: vacuum only, mop only, both at the same time, or vacuum first then mop. It automatically lifts its mop pads 10 mm before crossing carpets, so there’s no need to stress over extra mess.
Will my privacy be protected?
Answer: Yes. iRobot uses encryption to store and strictly limit access to data and is verified by third-party security organisations. Security measures include automatic software updates and the ability to delete your data if you pass your robot on to a new owner.
What kind of maintenance is required?
Answer: Perform basic care to keep your robot and dock running smoothly: wipe the robot bin, rinse the dock water tanks, clean the charging contacts and brushes, and change the filter, brushes and mop pads every 3–6 months. See the owner’s guide for detailed instructions.
