When it detects carpet, the robot lifts the mop roller up to 15 mm and slides a shield over it automatically, so carpets stay completely dry even when it vacuums and mops in the same pass.

Unbox the robot and place the AutoWash™ dock on a hard floor against a wall, a safe distance from stairs, leaving room around the dock for the robot to dock and undock easily. Fill the dock with clean water and cleaning solution, download the Roomba® Home app and follow the steps in the app. The robot is then ready to start cleaning.
This is the only model in the range with ThermaMist™, which sprays 60°C ultrasonic hot mist to loosen messes first. The PowerSpin™ Max roller, 44%* bigger than standard, then scrubs with 18 Newtons of pressure at 300 rpm and 60°C hot water, for 3.75x deeper scrubbing*. The roller washes itself as it mops and extends up to 4.5 cm towards the wall. When it detects carpet, DriLift™ lifts the roller 15 mm and closes the shield on its own.

Empty the dirty water tank and rinse the tanks at the dock regularly, wipe the robot bin and the charging contacts, clean the main brush and the edge-sweeping brush, and change the cartridge filter, the brushes and the mop roller at the intervals recommended in the user manual. Use plain water or an iRobot-approved cleaning solution only.
